There is a New Zealand owl that is called a Morpork. But I had to Google that too. And the Terry Pratchet stuff almost hid it. It is in the logo for the town incidentally (the one in his books)

Finally bought the last two LED bulbs that I needed to convert my house to 100% LED lighting. I even went so far as to remove the two 24v/15W bulbs that my garage door motor has as courtesy lights.

Electricity prices are killing me slowly and this is the only way I can cut down until I manage to convince the Body Corporate that solar geysers would be doing us all a huge favour.

I read quickly - and lots. There is a whole discussion about the town's name - and they mention the owl (and the logo). Pratchet claimed it is all coincidence - but the owl is in the logo and it is holding an ankh. I actually found the discussion fascinating. I have read very little Pratchet sadly. I should rectify that. I focused on slightly darker stories.
