Applied for a certain role at a company last week, got a mail back saying we feel you would be a better fit for this role vibes.

Did said interview yesterday, full on panel interview with scenario-based q's, over 30mins, Went well.

Said role was not made active yet but I can absolutely do it & it is a fair step up in CTC vs my last role.

Got a mail 30mins ago, even without a job spec to work/gauge from I was able to be a "strong candidate", as long as they don't find a "stronger candidate" I should be golden right....right :ROFL: 😁

Good, hopefully they carry through. Though generally a stronger candidate doesn't mean one who knows more, it just means BEE points.

I actually think I have a properly good shot, I'm not white (not being funny).

I see the role live now but the company only list roles (any) as a Posts not as a role in the Jobs section of LinkedIn, that is poor visibility for applicants. This could very well play in my favour 😁 :ROFL: :D

They don't have a direct career portal also, yes it is a legit company before anyone asks.

ChatGPT-ing (fine tuning) the schit out of a LinkedIn “Posts only” role (email). We're talking full blown back & forth tinkering then having a slam dunk feeling once you feel it hits the mark.

The famous line of leveraging AI but never replacing business acumen comes big into effect here.

Changing my work password.
Involves a process of changing it, restarting your laptop a few times, using combinations of old and new passwords depending on what you're using, having Outlook complain, windows explorer complain, changing things on my phone, being locked out, being locked in, and meetings with the CEO and board and shareholders.

By which time it's time to change it again.

Got it sorted now.
Don't use the formal password changing site, use the CTRL Alt Delete one.
Disconnect phone from any work connections, don't have email synced.
Close Outlook.
After changing it, lock the PC, then unlock using new password, then restart also with new credentials.
Connect phone again, also make sure wifi is now synced on laptop.
Profit.
 
Frigging, epically slow network speed in the office. Gives me time to ramble about here.

I ventured a trip early today to Bronkhorstpruit with my lad to do a Lego display at Blokkiesfees. 3 tables. First for my lad's Japanese inspired Lego builds. Second for my Speed Champions, Racers and Technic builds.

We both loved the community who were there at the NG church for the market occasion. Lego was definitely secondary. But what a wonderful occasion. Mixing with friends who traveled from Pretoria and Joburg and the lovely people in Bronkhorstspruit. just wow.

Thank you Hennie Cilliers and friends,. We will be back in 2027.
 
The short bit of driving along the N4 today was really good. Comparing the N12 to the N4, there is no doubt that the N4 wins significantly.
 
Five suspects have been killed in a shootout with KZN police in Hluhluwe.
Information was received about the men, who were travelling on the R618 towards a game reserve, late last night.
According to the SAPS, A stop and search operation was set up along the same road and when the suspects arrived at the roadblock, a shootout ensued between police and the suspects.
Five suspects were shot and fatally wounded, and they were found in possession of a hunting rifle with a silencer and two pistols. No police officer was injured during the shootout.
