Things that please you...

Recently married friend and his new wife had us over for lunch yesterday, had so much fun we ended up ordering pizzas for dinner. December vibes rolling in. The fact that I'm going on leave from Thursday is also a win.

When you DIY something your wife insisted you get someone in to sort out.
Although I'm pretty sure the only reason she says we should get a guy in is cos she knows I'll then insist on sorting it out myself. She knows the only reason I do 98.6% of things around the house is out of spite.
her: hmm, maybe we should get someone in once a week to look after the pool.
me that was lounging on the couch, suddenly leaping to my feet: what, get someone in? waste of money. I'll show you. son get my screwdriver.
Well played lady

I'm not sure if intentional, but if it was, well played sir!

Looking after the pool with a screwdriver... massive lols.

Perfect restores from backups made with the Veeam Backup Agent.

Excellent stuff, can sleep easier at night.

Do you guys also do test restores of your backups every so often?
Every so often, but will need to test one in Jan, it will be about 6 months since I did and I do have a server just sitting there doing nothing. Though can only do changes in Jan stupid end year change freezes

I still need to test our two VM's of 3Tb+ - finally have a server that's free for this purpose.

All the other smaller VM's restored beautifully.

Planning this excercise for January next year.

Smart sysadmins do test their backups. The others have fun when the popo hits the fan.

just wait till one goes on a full pyromaniacal runaway.... (thinking of the Mont Blanc tunnel disaster)

Interestingly, when discharged to 25%, LiPO batteries are quite safe, and can be punctured with sharp, metal objects, and they will not runaway.

When fully charged, they're very dangerous to approach with even a blunt object.

But it definitely looks MUCH better than his square d00s of a truck.
