Weather station? I have one of those built in, I just have a look outside.

But well done yes.

The point of a weather station is to collect the data and use it to automate things around the home. For example:

- Turn off sprinklers if it starts raining
- Turn off indoor lights when it gets too dark
- Adjust power consumption if the sun disappears (If running solar, like @Neuk_ does)

And many other things.

Just looking out the window won't be as effective - even more so, if you're not home.
