Things that please you...

Drain that has been giving a lot of issues, turns out a freaking cloth was causing it. Now it's sorted
I once dreaded calling a plumber to fix a toilet that had a very slow drain. You could flush it, but the water would just rise then slowly drained.

Not sure how I made the connection, but I had an old hydraulic brake line from a mountain bike and it turns out it was the right combination of rigid/flexible to go deep down the toilet and unstuck whatever was causing the problem. Needless to say, I still have that old brake line.

Wow nicely done, my son in law helped us out, we got a drain cleaner attachment for our pressure washer, he stuck it down the drain wouldn't go past a certain point, so he pushed it, then the went the other side where it comes out pushed it there.
He also plunged it like crazy and about an hour and a half of doing this, he said he stuck his hand down to guide the drain cleaner nozzle and felt something slimy and furry was like wtf, rat, pulled it out, it was grey and thankfully it was just a cloth, after a bit more cleaning and it was 100%. I've got a plumbing snake that does the same as your brake line, but it wouldn't pull a cloth like this sadly.

@Sinbad - can you lock it in order to prevent unauthorized car chargings?
Yes. There's a linked smartphone app - you can set it up to require an authorisation for each plugin.
It's not likely to be needed though - it's a smart unit that will only charge the car during specific cheap electricity hours, so during the day plugging a car in will have no effect. So only a risk if we're out all night...

Something interesting I picked up during the install... this house, in which all the heavy work is done by gas (hot water and central heating, gas hob) except the oven and appliances... which rarely goes over 4kw in power usage, has a 100 amp main breaker

Yeah it's wired to handle a 22KW load. Great foresight for the time when EVs are more pervasive and you might want more than one home charger (the one above pulls 32 amps). I asked why they didn't install 3 phase if that was their mode of thinking, the sparky told me the power companies charge £10k for a 3 phase connection install!

Because it was hell in getting there?
It feels like it  but it's not actually that high nor steep. Does remain a firm favourite for roadies (and wannabees like me).

So nice to downhill on the other side all the way to Pniel (and Pnoes if you are lucky).

Our boat is at a boat builder for some repairs to be done... Parked in their yard while it's in the queue.
The jockey wheel on the trailer broke on the trip over to the yard. I've bought a new one, so I emailed the company's owner to ask if it was OK if I popped round on Saturday to replace the wheel.
He's not going to be around, so he gave me the gate code and instructions to let myself in

People here are so trusting... Blows my mind.
