Things that please you...

It's been pretty windy here lately. My energy provider runs a quite a few of their own turbines, with the result that they've had a surplus of energy...
So when my wife gets home and plugs the car in, it starts charging immediately (normally does it off peak automatically at a cheaper rate). But because it's an intelligent charger integrated with the energy company, then when they tell it to charge it also kicks in the cheap tariff.

This all means that cooking dinner is done while the car is charging, at 7.5p per kwh instead of the usual 30...

Started a udemy course on C++ beginner to beyond :). Brush up on skills I've last used over 15 years ago, man things have changed a bit in C++. But ah man just brushing off the cobwebs in my brain has sort of been revitalising :-). Only 7 hours into the course over the last 3 days, but yeah

Ever since having my last AMD A10 scammed off me on Scummtree I have been contemplating getting another. Like in the last of the last of the last of Bulldozer right before Zen was release.

Found it last night in Germany, bought it since my sister lives in Germany so I'll get it some time in the future.

I don't really collect computers, but I do like having the very last of something. Getting a Q9500 C2Q some time after selling the one I had.

It's hilarious how many car accident videos on Reddit etc. often seems like a person who's being wronged by another driver, but because they're in the right they stubbornly keep going instead of avoiding the accident.

These fscking bos duiwe trying to take shortcuts through the house not seeing the windows. Must be one hell of an awakening hitting a window at those speeds. I regularly find them lying moertoe around the house after they flew into some of the windows lmfao.

Sending someone on a wild goose chase because they believe something is wrong - it reminds me of decades ago at my first job:

We had such an anal accountant at the company, she would have HR send out a "phone cost list" each month with all the employees names, their extention number and total value of external calls made. If it was more than R30 you either need to explain or it would come off your salary.

So, after a year or so when a new lady took over over HR, she had her first monthly phone cost list email. Being all new and shiny tailed and bushy eyed she added that anyone with queries or problems must please email her, and she will look into it.

Not having been allocated a phone in the 2 years I have been there I simply replied and said I think there is something wrong with mine. Nothing more nothing less. Got an immediate reply that she will look into it right away.

A week later she comes to my desk - completely confused and out of options, she says she tried her best to resolve my call costs, but she can't even start to look into it because she cannot find my extension number anywhere.

I just replied and said, "Oh, yes, that is because I don't have one".

Her, even more confused now, "But why did you then reply and say you have a query?"

Me "I just did not see my name on the list."

The next list had me on it with no extention and R0 cost and shortly thereafter I got a phone and extention number. FML.

Women can get away with a lot more in office environments then men.
I mean we have to wear long pants and shoes, they can wear dresses and comfy summer shoes.
