Things to do when you are capped...

Hi All...

Once again it is the end of the month and we are capped... so its once again into deep exploration of Local sites... But... Lo and Behold... most local sites wont even load properly...

Except MyAdsl, which is always fast...

So i would like to propose this thread, as a forum for people to post interesting local sites and sites of interest, to keep yourself busy at the end of a month, and to distract you from the fact that we are all getting ass-****ed by our telecommunications Bubba... Telkom....

How about, to start off with...

Phone Telkom complaints department, and tell them that you seem to have a problem, as you would like to switch to a different, cheaper, better service provider, but for some reason, you cant...........

I found that a number of local news sites like iol.co.za and the 24 sites like news24 and wheels24 don't load properly when I'm capped because of the international advertising on them. So I devised quite a simple way of accessing them properly.

1. Get Avant Browser (really sweet tabbed browser that encapsulates IE.
2. Make sure AD blocker is enabled in Avant.
3. And most importantly click the disable scripts button before going to the news sites.

Doing this will make the local news sites open with the same speed as when you are not capped.

That would take too much time away from MyADSL. There's so many posts, it's getting harder everyday to catch up!
