I just wanted to share this after cleaning out my mail box to today I came across this Query from a a hotel client.

This unnamed Hotel had Spent over 350k on an OPticon (Ipecs ).He had some how to come to contact our company, he simply wanted to use SIP Trunks.

When he inquired, I was hoping he with need a replacement of an old TDM PABX :D:D:D

But once I go to his site I could not bring my self to recommend replacement , he had the most beautiful fully specked system form Telkom IPecs lg/erricson . i told him we do not work on these systems and he should contact Telkom. Thats when he said he had no joy with them and no one seemed to know how to set his system up.

Our policy is not to work on a systems we are not certified on so we contacted the distributor Aira Tech, after tons of calls emails to simply check on a path to having a tech certified.

I find see the mail and note the calls to date over 5 months not an email just promises of someone getting back to us.
I did tell the client that we could not assist him has we have no idea of passwords and have little understating of the system.

he spent over 350K thought he is buying with confidence a feature packed system but his got no one to set it up for him. He was better of with an old tdm pbx and a gateway.

So just a heads up if you worry about support from open source telephony think again any It professional given a week or 2 could easily manage you opensource system where information is freely available you have a choice of supplier and pricing options.

:crylaugh::crylaugh::crylaugh::crylaugh: 350k paper weight but its a beauty it really is distributed architecture it truly is a beautiful system
