Thinking of getting netbook

So a friend bought this great spec netbook at a sale at Game for R1800 (irc), which made me think maybe I should get a netbook as well. I have a laptop but I never take that with me to varsity as it equals taking another bag with me when already my back pack is so heavy at times.

If I can install Netbeans, maybe some music production software...probably Reason 4, Reaper, Cubase etc. not sure Reason 5 will hold. Then it shall be all go.

So what great netbooks are out there, is there anything specific hardware wise I should be looking out for and what specials are on right now?
Oh, price wise I'm looking at 2K-2.3K, max.

I have a maya 44 usb audio card, I'll be most likely be using vst's.

it will run... its sooo slow on my normal desktop though, so I can only imagine that it would be painful on a netbook.
