This decision cost Naspers R900 billion

If Naspers held on to its full 33.2% Tencent share and reinvested dividends from the Chinese giant, it would have been worth R2.14 trillion — R900 billion more than what Naspers shareholders currently have. [Daily Investor]

Even the share buyback program will not unlock shareholder value in the long run. Fire Bob is all I can say

If it only held onto its 33.2% Tencent stake, paid out part of the dividends to shareholders, and kept some for other purposes, its stake would still be worth R2.03 trillion.

The value Naspers shareholders currently have, following the creation of Prosus, the MultiChoice unbundling, and share buybacks are only R1.24 trillion.
It all depends on the timing of the individual investors. I don't give a toss for Naspers, Prosus or Tencent, but I made a lot of good money out of them though

Not that it wasn't called 4 years ago ...

But Bob 'out-Koosed', Koos and made himself and his eBay B-team a couple of billion along the way:

Yeah. More excuses in the public eye to not pay taxes.
Like how takealot had so much in losses, but when you look at all their new mammoth warehouses.... That says something else

They built it using Tencent money. Takealot is running at a loss.
