I have had such a bad experience with Telkom' ADSL (it never worked properly) that I decided to cancel my Telkom line and account.
I am interested in going Neotel, but I do not have coverage in my area yet.
I went and got myself one of the Vodacom usb wireless units.

My problem. I have a contract with an ISP that I use to buy 5 gigs international from and that contact will still run for a long time. I can't use it with my Vodacom unit(or can I?). What can I do with the 5 gigs international? Was it a mistake to go with the Vodacom option or should I have gone with a wireless option that would have allowed me to use my 5 gig's? Is there even such an option where you can buy/rent a wireless device from one supplier but get your data bundle from another cheaper source?
:(

Ooops. Which ISP is the 5 Gigs with?

Ja, I would say it was a mistake canceling before you got Neotel coverage.

It was a mistake to sign a contract. What were you thinking?

Can't you cancel the contract by paying a reasonable penalty?

there is an isp that does something like this but you're probably not with them, and you gonna have to ride out the contract.

maybe try selling it to a friend? (the contract)

Why would I want to keep the Telkom connection and pay for it if the facility is not working? Did'nt make sense to me and basically rubbed salt into the wound in the first place! Now it only burn's half as much.

I have a similar problem, where my monthly cap was going to waste as Telkom can't tell me (after more than a month) whether they have adsl lines in my area.

Was it ever working properly? Are there other ADSL users in your area? How far are you from the exchange?
