another one is people have open SMTP ports on thier machine and end up relaying email for spammers, if you absolutly need to run your own SMTP server on your box at least make sure only localhost can use it, block outer traffic from accessing it or at least password protect it

yeah i get the banned message quite regularly on irc servers, so a simple disconnect (which is never really simple with iburst) and a simple reconnect (which is also never really simple) and I was able to conenct again
