So I get to work after a nice weekend, fire up IOL, and see these stories:

Remnants of the counter-revolution, including the Democratic Alliance, and those opposed to Jacob Zuma becoming South Africa's next president must be eliminated, says ANC Youth League President Julius Malema.

A senior military judge who doused herself with petrol and then set herself alight has told medical staff she believed "witchcraft" was behind her actions.

(my emphasis, there)

Then I switch over to news24, and see the whole thing about Rasool being fired, amid allegations of corruption on the one side, and of supporting Mbeki instead of Zuma on the other side.

Even if there were any positive stories (which there weren't), they wouldn't balance this chaos that's going on around us!

Yes it is bad reading about all this.

The "senior" ranked people who are supposed to protect us are not even capable of helping themselves....:(

I think the judge should reather go for HIV testing, as the illness make you hallucinate and do funny things. ARV should sort it out.

What's worrying about a witchcrafted nutcase who sets herself alight? They everywhere around the world! She was probably trying to kill herself for Zuma at Malema's request!

Nothing to worry about. We should maybe be more worried about Skinner derailing this thread with "belt-tightening" crap!

:D
no more of his rubbish for me at least. Ignore list FTW!

Julius Malema is another one of these power mongers. To obsessed with his own goals to give a damn about the South African people. Exactly the kind of person we don't want in government. From some of his speeches I'd go as far as to say he's a complete fanatic. Constantly emphasizes leadership and group moral. Remind you of someone else who had similar principles? You know, that German bloke...

Except that German oke wasn't a complete incompetent who couldn't put his shoes on without his trusty 'L' and 'R' stickers.
Hitler may have been a raving lunatic at the end but when he came into power he took an impoverished Germany and turned it into an industrial superpower.

We sadly have a bunch of politicians who might be fanatics but they're stumped by the instructions on the coffee machine.

I agree with you there. Adolf Hitler saved a country and slaughtered a culture. It's very difficult to argue where Germany would be today if he hadn't risen to power yet the fact remains you could never justify the eradication of millions of people for any cause. Perhaps our one saving grace is that Malema is too stupid to orchestrate a campaign of mass hate. I'm keeping my passport close, just in case I'm wrong.

:D Seriously though, he must me the most ignored forumite ever. I don't recall being on a board and so many people put one person on ignore.

That is the sentiment many of us share
