This speed IS possible in SA!

I had the opportunity tonight to witness the local municipality's broadband connection in action, and all I can say is Wow!

15Mb/s local download speed and 5Mb/s upload, and
8Mb/s international download speed with 4Mb/s uploads.

Makes my 4Mb/s line looks very pale in comparison.

The health department also has internet connections on which software actually downloads at over 1 mb/s.

Would have been great if this was international as well, but not even the enterprise who this line belongs to can afford that type of bandwidth.
