This the season for games

Many of the hardcore gamers are bracing the deluge of excellent titles hitting our shores around this time of the year. With both consoles churning out prodigies it's all too well, except on the pocket.

I plan to limit my purchases to the following:

For the PS3:
- Valkyria Chronicles
- Perhaps second hand copies of Resistance 2, Killzone 2 and just perhaps Little Big Planet

For the X360:
- Fable 2
- Tales of Vesparia
- Infinite Undiscovery
- FarCry 2. I expect to spend large amounts of time when playing this game, so I might get it on the PS3, well, that's only if I don't pad my X360 drive.
- Fallout 3
- Gears of War 2
- Dead Space. There's hearsay that this is GOTY (game of the year) material!

So, what games are you guys getting this season, and, what games would you recommend?

(My stealthy way of keeping a list of what games I want, and, getting advice from fellow gamers. ;) )

Getting on PS3:

-Call of Duty: W@W
-Killzone 2
-Fallout 3
-Dead Space
-White Knight Story
-Mirrors Edge

Xbox 360:

Rented Fable 2 ... not my thing

Have:

Fallout 3
Dead Space
Gears Of War 2
Mirror's Edge

Awesome titles :D

Renting Call Of Duty: World At War. Great game so far :cool:

Just got Fable 2 - Very happy :)

planning on getting

1.) Devil May Cry 4 (since it's becoming scarce and I just luv DMC)
2.) Dead Space
3.) Mortal Kombat VS DC

You might be wondering about the other titles but I'm not really into FPS and shooter so meh.

next year however...

1.) Silent Hill: Homecoming
2.) Resident Evil 5
3.) Final Fantasy XIII
 
You forget that the following games are also due for release next week:

- Tomb Riader underworld
- Prince of persia

CANT WAIT!!!!
 
@Valante - Is White Knight Story slated for release before the end of the year, in PAL regions!?

Call of Duty W@W settings are too familiar with WWII shooters. Familiar enough to breed contempt.

@Maestro - How did you find Mirror's edge. Heard it's one of those either you like it or you don't. Well, even if I would enjoy the game, 7 hours worth of play doesn't warrant the cash spent in my opinion.

Mirror's Edge is alright, haven't finished it though. Borrowing it from a friend, so no $$$ spent ;)

The controls are bit of a mission to get the hang of but it's a cool game. Just sucks that the online element is limited :(
 
I'm looking at some racing with Need for Speed Undercover;)
Some RTS gaming with Red Alert 3:D

All for PC of course,;)
I'm not really sure about getting an Xbox 360 or PS3 the games are a tad on the expensive side, and I can only use tha consoles for gaming, and to top it off If I do buy a 360 or PS3 I'll have to invest in a new TV screen since they can't be output to a PC monitor:confused:

@zakdoc89 - You can use a pc screen with a console.
 
Buying the new Tomb Raider ...... gonna be renting a lot for the next few months while the new business builds up. Will be buying a few PC titles though - Fallout3, FarCry 2, Sacred 2 for a start.

For the X360, you use the VGA cable. I think it's costs around R250 for the authentic Microsoft cable.

For the PS3, you use a HDMI to DVI cable. Costs around R150. Any cable works fine.

I use both my consoles on my 22" screen and you'd have an impossibly tough time telling it apart from a HD screen of it's size.

Umm.. no Its out in PAL regions next year March. It out in JPN Dec :)
 
That's what I recall.

It would be nice if the JPN release has an English option.
 
Ive already got my game - PES2009, Football Manager 2009 & Colonization (the new one ofcourse). Other than those... Not really interested in any big titles. Just might get Fallout 3 if I like it enough on my mates xbox. Otherwise? What else is coming out?
 
would only get a console for final fantasy 13....gonna be a awesome game!:D
 
i was also looking forward to MGS4 but when i found out that more than half the game was a movie it kinda put me off it...i'll go back to playing Sons of Liberty on the ps2:D

Yeah it does have a lot of cut-scenes but the Story really is brilliant. You seen White Knight story?
