512 ADSL for R140 per month...

When will our government wake up and kick Telkom in the... ????

This same company now only offers (it seems) 20Mbps connections for around R240 per month including unlimted calls to certain destinations and the whole of France... My French is only as good as Google allows it to be... so please fix any inaccuracies by replying to this post...

You must remember that everything like petrol etc is so expensive in Europe that R140 is in fact peanuts for them.

The price quoted in the video is also for month by month subscription (i.e. no contract). It must however be noted that the ADSL here (in France) is normally accompanied by a 50 euro installation fee (although one company had/has a special where installation was 1 euro). It still works out much cheaper than Telkom though.

And one more depressing thought. A company called Neuf Telecom is currently offering 20Mbps unlimited ADSL for 10 euros (R77) per month. I'm not sure if any conditions apply.

I'm just hoping things improve before I get back to SA.
