those that have already received their modems.... what date did you apply? what are the first 4 digits of your ref number... i applied on the 20th jan, and am still waiting and sentech say that no one after the 20th would have received their modems yet... coz im in the queue... someone prove them wrong.... please

I applied on the 20th, faxed through on the 21st. Got my approval on the 4th of Feb, and received the modem (after calling Clinton Smith on 0116917000, who was very helpful) the 10th of February (this Tuesday)

However, things like connecting to the wrong tower, then my username/password needing to be reset/towers being down and the fact that my MyWireless 512k package is not yet activated, is hindering me surfing... yet.

If you have been approved, and they say that "stock has been requested, you should get a call the next 24 hours" call them on their bluff, tell them how long you've been waiting since your approval, and then try and escalate the query, if nothing happens for another day or so, call Clinton, I think he uses a shambok to hit them with, because I picked up my modem after 2 hours of speaking to him on the same day.

hey just spoke with clinton and he is shocked that i havent received yet and he is making some calls and fiddling with knobs and ....

i love noone, i love clinton!!!!!!!!! within 4 hrs had my modem and am responding WITH MY WIRELESS.....

for anyone interested am in a concrete wall and roof building with no windows in oak avenue randburg (in the mnet building) and i got 4 lights showing and am rocking away here....

I will have to say that Clinton is doing some good PR work for Sentech .
I had hassles with my application, and Clinton sorted me out in 2 days ( I applied on the 28 Jan )!

UP and running now.

I applied on the 21st... no modem in sight. That is even after Clinton promised (yesterday morning) that I will have my modem today. At this stage it looks like (*if* the sentech gods smile on about 10 people) I might just get my modem on the 17th!!!

We applied on the 23rd of January 2004, faxed it off on the 26th and received out modem last friday (6th feb)
You have to keep phoning them and asking them what's happening.

This just makes me angry all over again... how can this happen in a "fully automated system that can not be bypassed". For the past week I have spent 2 hours a day on the phone to them (in the style described elsewhere on this forum). I have spoken to at least:

- Ba...
- Cl...
- Re...
- Ar...
- Sa...
- De...
Each one of them shocked and amazed that this single application can take so long. Then they promise me that they will sort it out, just to be handed to the next person in the line... to start all over again. Why do you have to beg and plead to become a client of these people?

okay... there it is, some less steam on my side... so maybe I feel a bit better... but just maybe...
