Sorry for hijacking this thread.

I bought a Red Top Flycatcher (pic below) from Farm City (Farmers Corporation) in Pretoria yesterday but I am scared to attract all the flies of the whole neighbourhood to my home now.

Has anyone tried these before and can share their findings.

Thanks

For avid fly hunters - these used to be the business back in the day, but lately they seem to have been replaced by those foam/plastic things which are gross after a few splats, and the zapper one's aren't too effective - they just k/o & never seem to kill. Anyone know any stores that still sell them? It's a bit hit & miss trying to find somewhere that still stocks them.

Cape Town -> Western Cape (pref southern suburbs, cbd, somerset west).

Thanks :).

I bought a few in GB a few years back. Probably the spar, will look again

I have unsuccessfully been looking for those for a while now. The foam-type ones are pathetic and most of the new-fangled plastic ones break after 1 or 2 swipes. I'm gonna give these new zapper-types a try, looks like it can be fun.

Just don't swear when you hit an expensive lampshade or other object with the solid frame Zapper. With the wire gauze swatter there won't be any damage.
