THQ files for bankruptcy

Someone better bail out Saints Row, that game is awesome!!

Apparently it raised quite a bit of cash can't understand why they are filing

The way I see it...

Directors knew they were in trouble.
So to generate extra cash to pay off debt/salaries whatever they went the humble bundle route.
This obviously helped a lot, but also saw their stock rise.
I'm sure many investors used this opportunity to cash out and make some good money!

I love their games, although they might have made some error in judgement by releasing Homefront on DVD format only to still expect buyers of the DVD to still download a further 5GB of content before they can start playing the game they have bought legally.

Look out for the sequel, Company of Zeroes

Haha, nice one. Seriously though, this is one of my most anticipated games for a long time and I hope that they are somehow able to release it...

I understand that a businesses financial affairs are more complicated than "create a good game and make mega bucks".

But I fail to understand what has lead to THQ's demise. They published many loved franchises like CoH, Darksiders and Saints Row. Anyone know what exactly went wrong here? It's sad seeing them go under, hopefuly someone will swoop in to rescue them.

^This, though I expected another publisher to buy them out, there were talks about a week ago that Ubisoft were looking to buy THQ.

Agreed on the crappy games part, huge franchises? WWE (from Smackdown vs Raw) series was pretty huge, was a huge fan of it until Yukes was just rehashing last gen polished graphics on to next gen. Def wanted WWE 13 until I saw how poor the graphics were, gameplay looks good though. Hoping the WWE licence changes hands.

...and YES I know "professional wrestling" is fake, who doesn't, entertaining as hell though

June 25th slated as the release date for Company of Heroes 2. Hopefully the delay will allow Sega (the company that took over from THQ) to use the added time to make this game even better! :)
