Thread size

I think this is going to be too off topic even for off topic.

Anyone know what thread size a bolt would use to be able to screw onto a camera tripod? Seeing as most cameras have a hole for accepting them it should be reasonably standard.

IIRC it's a ⅜" thread. I actually found a few a builders warehouse.

Into the camera itself is ¼" BSW. With better tripods and heads, you usually get a ⅜" to ¼" adaptor.
