Three Life Sentences for Eastern Cape Rapist

An Eastern Cape man has been given three life sentences for raping a girl in Makhaza location, Mooiplaas, in East London, police said on Wednesday.

"The East London High Court handed down three life sentences yesterday [Tuesday] to 53-year-old Sbeke-beke Dyani for the repeated rape of a girl aged 11 at that time, who is now 13 years old," said Captain Mluleki Mbi.

The man was a traditional healer from Makhaza, where the rape happened two years ago. Police said he was related to the girl's family.
