anyone else able to download without the 1min throttle kicking in? My downloads are averaging 23-27K/sec and for over 15min. Downloading from sourceforge.net and betanews

its now around 30min after my last post and the connection is still running at full speed. Busy listening to streaming music on winamp and downloading at 13K/sec

Yes, it's working well. It's bloody awesome lately.

A lot better. Bit spikey on single thread (wget with cache off). Multithread full throttle, could've been cached though since this is a f-prot update (7mb) file. Tried another file, same positive results on a 5.5mb file. Something definitely "wrong" here :D They'll probably fix it tomorrow :(

Actually, I seem to have a throttle applied until I've downloaded 1.5MB and then things speed up. Looks like someone misread the bandwidth management manual! hey, anything is possible with this bunch!

Here's a download from mesh.dl.sourceforge.net

Could be that while you're pulling down at 256k, the proxy actually gets the file faster than it can give you, then when it received the entire file, it starts giving it to you at full speed.

I think if they changed it to work like that, that they have a pretty good formula for a greatish product.

However, keep in mind Sentech has now released their service in Nelspruit, so what you might be experiencing is extra bandwidth Sentech purchased, because the way the bandwidth manager works, it tries and distributes all the bandwidth available.(unless they changed it since august)

I dont mind what they've done...as long as it stays. Currently, still running at full speed

btb, full speed is around 32kb/s for you guys on 256k. PLEASE remember, they're not suddenly saints for giving you a bit faster than the normal crap speeds.

I've always been happy with my connection. There's been the odd day which sucks but when I complained. eg last month, they phoned back and gave me a month free. So, 85% of the time, Im very happy..and using way more than 3GB a month.
