When I signed up to ADSL with Telkom I was told that once your cap is reached you will be placed on a 'throttled international server'. The salesman said "it's slower" - I was under the impression that this meant a slower server - say 56K.

Why not tell people that throttled actually means 'UNUSABLE' - I can't even get Goooogle to open.

I now find myself reconnecting my 56K modem and paying AGAIN for calls just to surf and check my MSN Messangers.

I'm NOT impressed!

Oops - wrong board - meant to be in 'ADSL Speed, Port Prioritisation, Cap'

Welcome to the wonderful world of Telkom's ADSL. Before I had ADSL installed, I was actually told by a Telkom consultant that once capped I would be throttled to 64k. Pfffft! In all the time I've had ADSL I've never once been able to load a single international website once capped. Its extremely frustrating.

Welcome from me as well, I wish one day we can ask you the following. What speed have you subcribed. 2, 4, 6 or 10 Mbs. And capping we don't even know anymore what that means....

(sorry for my dreams...)

Um would'nt the fact that you cannot surf internationally although the Telkom rep said that you could be regarded as fraud ?

Oh no sorry the rep said something wrong and was dismissed :P - Telkom

I'm sure he's still there - and thanking me for the commission he earned.

Well, we'll right it off as a learning experience and move on...to Axxess (more Gb for your Buck)
