I just decided to try and purchase pre-paid from Axxess at an Engen Petrol Station and I am very impressed. Works and thats what we need. Apparently it is sold at every Engen Station country wide. Just the thought that there are no EFT's no C.C.'s involved, no details given to no one is unbelievable great innovation. Well done Axxess.

Not all Engen Stations sells the prepaid yet.

At the 1st 2 garages nobody knew what I was talking about- only got lucky the 3rd time.

But I agree the price is ok and it's easy to use.

I further bought, via the net, a further 3GB local access for R51

Because they don't know what you were talking about does not mean they don't have it, the same happened to me at an Engen station near me and I insisted that they do the following to see if it works:

1) Select prepaid cell phone airtime.
2) Then enter the following code: 87000070

(thats for the 1GB, and for the larger vouchers change the "70" to 140, 210, 280 or 350)

Needless to say after they punched in what I said above it produced the required voucher.:D

hmmm extra quality

IS quality is just as good as saix's plus there is the news server

i download something like 30-40 gigs local a month on IS game on Is local

IS local is quality

Ok for anyone that knows about the SAIX news server, please let this one lie and lets not let this thread go down there :) Please !

bah... you must dl what is cached (not what u want) or go SAIX and you can dl what you want at full speed when you want and not waiting weeks for something to get cached :] on IS server...

i dont mind waiting for stuff

at the end of the month i have my 30-40 gigs for around 199 your 30-40 gig costs you what?

do you guys even d/l 30 gigs on saix ? no because its expensive

at the end of the month the IS guys have more downloaded for less than the full speed 19 rand a gig okes :) o lets not forget that cached goes at full speed as well

hahaha i've downloaded 43 gigs this month on IS

43 x 19 = R817.00 rand

IS 139.00 for 30 gig and 69.00 for local = 199.00

yea im thinking of going saix as well bwhahahahah

:)

Maybe you don't mind waiting for stuff, but I do. If I want something, I want it immediately at full speed. If there's one thing I can't do, it's wait, because I use my laptop mostly and don't like leaving it running overnight. I don't even like leaving my PC running overnight. Just because we end up getting the data eventually does not mean that it's acceptable. IS are pathetic now, nowhere near as good as they used to be.

It's not that SAIX is good, it's more like IS is so bad now that they make SAIX look good. Local should be free anyway, so it's unacceptable to impart praise on IS for their local bandwidth being cheap. All that does is give SAIX ammunition to charge more.

must be difficult to spend 600 bucks a week on bandwidth, i would feel raped

2.4k a month ouch

actually high flyer if it where not for IS we prolly would not have saix local

how long was there no saix local?

telkom didnt not think so many ppl would to IS local big mistake

highflyer 30 for 139 sounds much better to me than 450 from saix

Thanks to IS's shaping policies, speed now comes at a premium. Previously it used to be full speed at the same price. So why accept sub-standard service just because it's still affordable? And actually SAIX used to be uncapped locally.

Not all of us can afford to sit around waiting for something to download at slightly faster than dial-up speeds. Not all of us crap out cash either. We used to have the best of both worlds, but thanks to all the promotion of the news servers going on here, we now have to sacrifice one of them.

You know as well as I do that I was more than willing to help out with any questions as long as they were confined to PM's. So I don't see why people keep dragging this issue out into the public domain. There's a reason why the first rule of usenet is don't talk about usenet.

While you may say it's ok for you as long as you get your data, it's not ok for me because I don't have loads of free time to leave my machine running continuously.

Anyway I have my means of getting my full speed now. And I'm sorry to be a bastard about it but this time I ain't sharing with anyone ;)

Cool HGP ;) That's why I love you man, straight to the point, if you don't want to be a bastard in lets say around 6-12 months, send me a pm ;)

How soon we forget that a couple of years ago SAIX local was uncapped. ;)
