You really should mention that calls have decrease by 5% to 38c a minute except for the first minute.

Does ICASA regulate Telkom Internet and SAIX? If so, does this approval of tarrifs have anything to do with the per gig charges?

Icasa regulates the industry as a whole. So yes, ICASA does regulate Telkom.

With regard to the per gig story, I believe that bandwidth charges do not fall in "the basket". "The basket" is a bunch of services which are subject to rather stringent price caps. Whilst ADSL DOES fall in the basket now, Telkom's latest per gig stunt means the situation is a little ambigious. That's as far as I understand, I may be wrong. For more information, call Icasa (011 321 8200) and ask what the status of bandwidth is - i.e. whether it falls in the basket or not. If it does, then it's going to be an interesting situation that arises....

(Useless fact: 80% of Telkom's incoming revenue are from services which fall in the basket).

Anyone tried mailing http://today.reuters.com on the Telkom saga? As I've noticed that most of our news on all the channels seems to come from 'Reuters'?

They seem to be a news hub for alot of news channels. From Sky to ETV-News to our local newspapers.

Don't know how to go about it though.
