The okes who go around to clubs taking pics of people are punting their own adsl isp, wtf...

3 Gig CAP on 192/64Kbs Circuit = R145.00
3 Gig CAP on 384/128Kbs Circuit = R190.00
3 Gig CAP on 512/256Kbs Circuit = R240.00

Irily similier to Cybersmarts structure, cept a bit more pricey.

I still don't get why they insist on charging more for the higer line speed, it's the same friggin' amount of bandwidth, ffs

I think they put more than one account on one line or smthing like that, and thats why its slow during the day aswell. But im just guessing and im not sure how theyd do it in the first place

Yup its a bit of a pain, you pay more in line rental, and then get double f@#%ed, when you get your ISP.

They use 1 account and proxy it, however as you line grows in size so does the required bandiwdth and thefore the higher charge, I would stick with low cost providers who provide a real account, those smaller account worry me

Ja i think you might have it there. cybersmart who are obviously doing the same are offering to fix their pricing for 24 months to. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THESE PEOPLE. They cant possibly know what a gig will cost in two years time.

your suppose to pay for bandwidth

so if you paying for 192 384 or 1024
who cares what speed you reach your 3 gigs

dumbass's

I dont get it either, you are going to download your three gigs in 4 hours instead of nine? What difference does it make on a capped account? Please tell me.

Please can someone inform these "fly by night" isp's that are trying to jump on the bandwagon, the differance between cap and uncap. Im afraid that I might loss my cool.

Fly by night or not they are cheaper and they don't have lenghty contracts so as long as I get my connectivity I am willing to take the risk.

Honestly I think there must be some kind of deal with SAIX there is no other way the ISP's will be able to offer these products.

But are they REALLY cheaper. I have a 384 line and pay WA R199 for a std un-proxied account vs. their R190 for the same line speed, proxied. R9 in my eyes is F$#k-all, and WA is brilliant service as well.

It's to do with risk me thinks.. chance of someone using the full 3GB with a high speed connection is higher than someone with a slow connection. Remember they are i think taking a calculated risk since they sell it cheaper and are hoping people use about ~ 1.5 GB ~= R99 ?

On a 384 circuit i agree it does not make sense. I have a 192 circuit and pay R100 for 3gb.

I use cybersmart and get very good speeds during the day and night.
At R100 for 3gb i am very happy.
SO enjoy paying your R200+ for 3gb and getting the same service.
I didnt sign any contracts either that bind for 24months etc.
They dnt use a proxy btw.

I'm also very happy with cybersmart, i get 33KB/s day and night on a 192k line...
Duno where u guys get this proxy k*k from ;)

A little of topic but uhm wtf is up with those pics of ppl that they take in public places

It's kinda weird if you ask me  I mean are they peeping toms or are they a isp? ;)

heh i'm moving over to cybersmart nxt month cause then my adsl charges begin to look reasonable at R370.. though it does highlight who's raking in profit when 270 of that is telkom 'rental'
