Nope, anytime, if I pay afrihost for the dsl line and account and something happens to it. Telkom has to fix it, no questions asked and for free because you are paying for the maintenance on the line every month

OP was asking about router yes, but I was asking what happens if you're using a different ISP, coz thats what a client of mine is faced with. Thank you Rickster, that was exactly what i needed to know.

Or ask around, someone might have a spare modem lying around, because Telkom always gives out a free modem when you renew your contract.

I took the router along with the receipt and they exchanged it with a new unit and receipt but it has to have come from telkom and you must go back to the same store where you bought it.

my parents ordered their line and contract over the phone... never went into a store.

Well if the router is supplied with the contract then they have to replace it (nearest telkom store).

Yep they wont replace it for free if itbgot damaged by lightnening so I just told them the modem didnt worl. So they tested it and gave me a new one! Now I just need to wait for the technician to come and fix the line.....
