For just about forever my outgoing SMTP (TI) has been setup on THunderbird to use authentication.
Tried sending mail now and it says the server does not support SMTP-AUTH
I've now unticked that auth option and can send mail. :wtf:
When did they remove the auth and why?
I've run a few tests and they've really opened themselves up for spammers. I can send a mail from my account at gmail to my account at hotmail using smtp.saix.net!
Granted you have to be on TI to do this but its opened up a big whole. I'm sure when the auth was working you could only do a mail from: [email protected]
Can anyone else confirm the auth problem - or is it just me?
