TI - using local next month by not resetting?

Not sure if this has been already covered, but once your capped TI assign you a 165.x.x.x address. I find that once I've been capped I need to reset my router on the 1st to get back onto the 41.x.x.x subnet so I can again surf international again.

If I don't reset my router on the 1st can I (how long) stay on the 165.x.x.x subnet and will I then still only be using local - this way I can use up some of my 30GB local and maybe in a week or so reset and then go back to using international?

Anyone tried this?

If you stay connected past midnight tonight, yes you will keep you local connection into next month.

There is a small thing to be aware of though, any usage on that local connection will then count towards next months local usage. Bottom line is to connect local like 10 or 20 mins before midnight and not download anything, then keep the connection going as long as you can.

IE If by midnight you've clocked up 400 megs on that connection and you keep the connection into next month, then that 400 megs local will be added to your May local usage and not to your April local usage.

But ja, I think a few people have done (are doing) what you ask there

If you get PPPoE connections you can even have local and international dialed simultaneously and use route sentry on your one account

Nope, I think it use to be like that, but not any more. I had sessions more than 2 days old and when month end midnight strike, what was used before go to previous month and what was used after go to the new month.

@OP: The major problem that I have with rolling over and using local first in the new month as you suggest, is the fact that when a hungry little insect come and nibble on the copper cable, the line drops, the router reconnect and suddenly you are using international bandwidth for your local downloads and if this goes unnoticed, wham cap is gone before you know it.

lol. I used to be with MWEB and they make sure you don't do that (with me atleast) they will end your session for you just after midnight and then of course reassign you an int IP.
