Ticket Sales - outside the stadium

Went to Argentina greece in Polokwane on Tuesday night and right outseide the stadium, just before the security check - there were a number of people selling tickets. Wanted to find out if it is like that at all games and why the cops are not clamping down on it? These guys were actually shouting - looking for buyers...What have you guys experienced?
 
Meant they are selling tickets for the game - for seats inside the stadium but they are selling them outside

I've heard you can get tickets for something like R50 depending on what game is played here in Cape Town..

Anyone have confirmation on this?
 
Same scenario outside PE stadium (at 3 different games).
 
there are people selling tickets @ sandton city, outside soccer city, ellis park, right outside the fifa offices in sandton, travel agencies who couldnt sell their allocations are probably to blame
 
thats hectic - what surprised me most is that the cops seem to allow it - they dont even bat an eyelid at these guys...
 
yeah think the cops have their hands full with looking after stadium security, busses etc (they doing a great job)

I honestly do not see a problem with ticket scalping. In a free market system you should be able to do with legitimate tickets you purchased as you please. The principle of willing seller willing buyer comes to mind.

not that i have a prob with it, its just that FIFA seemed so draconian with what you do with your tickets etc before the games started but now once the games are on they dont really seem to mind - was just wondering thats all. And yes, its a true free market system, tickets are pricey before the game but once teams start playing the prices plummet..hehehe
 
Ive seen them selling at face value, aslong as they legit I dont mind.
But I wouldnt pay more than what the ticket price says...
 
I doubt that'll happen at today's match, Brazil-Portugal :(

Oddly, I saw Koreans selling Cat 2 tickets for the Nigeria-Korea game on Tuesday for half face value.
 
Seemed to be more people asking to buy tickets @ the Slovakia v Italy game @ Ellis Park yesterday. Looked like a sell-out game - didn't see any empty seats in the stadium.

Theres 1000 online for Argentina on Sunday...
And lots of people selling R16 games for R500 ea.
I take you dont have any Indian friends on FB... :p
 
Every match (no exceptions) shown on TV had plenty of empty seats in full view, commentators even mentioned it - radio announcers blamed it on some kind of IT problem in distribution & allocation. Pissed me off as I tried to get for my sons, few times, without success! Will not buy black market tickets when legally there are empty seats in the stadium.
