TIcket Seat Allocation for Categories

Hi

So how many of you feel cheated in terms of the seats received based on the category of tickets you purchased?

So far I've had 3 people plus myself complain about the ticket allocation.

I've purchased Cat 4 tickets for the Eng vs Ger match in Bloem, R350 and the seats ended up on the opposite side of the tunnels where the players enter to the change rooms. CAT 4?

I've paid R140 for Cat 4 to Arg vs Korea match @ soccer city ended up the last row of the stands to the right side of the pitch. 3 of my friends bought Cat 2 they ended up at the exact same spot as me????

Additionally they bought tickets to Italy vs NZ and their Cat 4 were the same as Cat 2 tickets?

Is that right?

Cat 4 is the cheapest cat?

I've only ever bought CAT 4 tickets and its always behind the goals..

Tickets are available in four different categories:

Seats for Category 1 tickets are generally located alongside the pitch.
Seats for Category 2 tickets are generally located adjacent to Category 1, in the corners
Seats for Category 3 tickets are generally located adjacent to Category 2 behind the goals or in the corners
Seats for Category 4 tickets are generally located behind the goals.

They do add this though :

Each stadium is configured differently, therefore the general rules should not be considered definitive in each circumstance.

Perhaps in certain instances where you felt you had great seats for cheap the organisers felt the view was obstructed in some way. I'm not sure about your friends ending up in the same place as you with Cat 2 tickets though... that sounds dodge to me. Are you sure it was the exact same spot?

Remember Cat 4 is exclusively for South African residents so perhaps at the less popular games these could well be in more prime positions as international sales could have been slow and they upped the number of Cat 4s available.

My CAT4 tickets at Soccer City were the best seats I've thus far. My CAT3's at ended me on the roof in the last row at Ellis Park & Polokwane I got second last row (though not in the last tier). At Soccer City I was on top row 1 (A), great view.

Yeah general indication, for the Italy vs Slovakia match a Cat 2 ticket was sitting Cat 3 match...

i had cat 1, 2 and 4 tickets
cat 1 was right next to the media boxes - at soccer city
cat 2 was in the corner, but behind the goal - similiar to my cat 4 seats - durban
i had 3 cat 4 tickets which varied from highest corner position at loftus (not too bad, good view)
behind the goal at ellis park , but the penanlty from there was awesome
and then close to the corner but in front of the goal at loftus (best cat 4 seats i had)
