How would you know if a tick bites you?

I have been infected with tick bite fever twice before.. Honestly I didn't feel the bite, I didn't even know it was a tick that had bit me. I just noticed a black spot that I thought was a sore of some sort and picked and squeezed it out. Have no Idea how long the tick bites were there for, the first one was there for a few days before I decided to pick and squeeze it. The next day after squeezing it out though started feeling extremely sick, got to a point where I couldn't walk at all and started throwing up constantly and my parents had to rush me to the Doc which is where I got told I had tick bite fever.

Was a bit of a surprise but yea definitely not a nice thing to have..

You often wont, sometimes a tick as small as 2mm will crawl into your hair or a crevice of some sort and attach itself there then reinfect you several times.

HAHAHA, yea seems quite strange to get it twice huh.... It happened years apart tho so not really where I hang out but rather just me being unlucky as usual...

I love outdoor activities and these damn ticks love the outdoors too or apparently me...

EDIT: oh both these bites happened while I lived in durbs, somewhere near amanzimtoti...
Now I stay in JHB and haven't had a tick bite since.
