I had a subscription at Tidal Music back in 2015 which I cancelled in December 2015. Then May this year they re-activated my account without my knowledge and without informing me. Then they charged me double every month on both my email addresses for 5 months , that is 10 US dollars x2 every month without any benefit to me.I was not aware that they were charging my credit card until it expired in September, when they informed me that my credit card must be updated!
The Tidal company refuses a refund they say members are aware it is their responsibility to cancel their accounts on their own, or by contacting support prior to the end of the trial (or billing period) to avoid any billing.
How could I cancel an account without knowing that I have an active account.? They falsely charged me as an ex-customer.
So be aware that when you had a subscription at Tidal , even if only a free trial , that they still have your credit card number in their database and they can start charging you at any time.
According to a Google search other people had the same problem, Tidal is getting a lot of competition from the likes of Apple and Google music and will try everything to get your money!

This is highly unusual as you've told it. I'd like to hear both sides of the story.

There is no proper company in the world that will "start charging your card at any time" obviously that is categorically illegal.

You should find out how that account was reactivated because there may be some sort of dark pattern that led to you reactivating it without realizing that that was what you were doing, which means you could accidentally do it again.

I went through all my emails and now realised that I had a subscription with Roon Labs during April this year. They sent me a code to use the Roon-Tidal combination, however it did not work on my one email address, so I tried the code on my other address, but I was not able to log into any Tidal account . I think my my account was re-activated in this way.
I then cancelled my Roon subscription because I was not able to use the Roon-Tidal account. However I did not cancel my Tidal accounts as I was not aware that it was activated and I could not log into my accounts anyway.
I was then double charged (one for each email) for 5 months without using their service.

Are you sure it was Tidal and your details where not pirated.

There are 100s of peoples account details leaked weekly.
Spotify I think takes the biggest brunt.
