Tiger King

Anyone going to do the TigerKingChallenge?

According to a statement shared on the Big Cat Sanctuary website, 69-year-old Candy Couser, who has been a volunteer with the sanctuary for five years, was feeding a tiger named Kimba when the incident happened.

Kimba was enclosed in a section "that was away from where he was usually fed". Candy noticed this and contacted the coordinator to find out why.

The statement goes on to say that the tiger was kept in that area as cameras were being installed. When Candy went to open the enclosure, she noticed that one door was clipped shut.

"This is our universal signal NOT to open a gate without the coordinator coming to assist, but Candy said she just wasn't thinking when she reached in to un clip it (sic).

"It is against our protocols for anyone to stick any part of their body into a cage with a cat in it. Kimba grabbed her arm and nearly tore it off at the shoulder."
