Hey guys

Budget is around 120k.

Just looking for advice on a 2009/2011 Tiguan. Most likely the 1.4tsi as the TDI seems to be hard to find and out of budget.

Also how is the ix35?

Cheers

I have two friends who had Tiguans and pricing for spares are quite pricey, so I'd stay away from them personally. I have an iX35 and it hasn't given me any issues in the last +-4 years. Services and parts aren't that expensive, but the tires can be if you don't drive like a normal person.

interesting. I thought with VW parts are easier but good to hear peoples experiences. The ix35 came up as an option now am intrigued by it

My brother has an ix35 and a colleague the older Tiguan.

Both appear to have been pretty reliable; I think biggest issue for my brother has been the fuel consumption (he's got the petrol), while on the Tiguan side the colleague had the turbo pack up but was able to replace it outside the dealer network for far cheaper than what they were asking.
Both have sold in big numbers so spares and all that should be relatively easy to come by.

So both I'd say are solid options. Which do you prefer?

At what kilometres did the turbo give issues?
