Sure, nothing like embracing a delusion to fix a serious health problem. Would you go to church to heal a broken leg or if you had a heart attack? Because turning to religion to cure a drug addiction sounds just as ridiculous.
 
Pathways for seeking in-patient addiction treatment

Hi

There are 2 main pathways for reasonable quality free treatment (I am assuming that your location information - Bellville - is accurate and current):

Pathway 1: Assessment by a social worker at an office of the Department of Social Development, who may then refer you to a free in-patient treatment centre.

Visit DSD Bellville: 107 Voortrekker Road, Bellville

Pathway 2: Seeking free outpatient treatment, such as with Matrix, Cape Town Drug Counselling Centre or with SANCA. They would first try outpatient treatment, and if success is limited or not forthcoming, they then refer you to a free in-patient centre.

Visit SANCA Bellville: 18 Karoo Street, Bellville

Free treatment centres that are state-funded and employ evidence-based practices (EBP) include (these cannot be accessed directly, but via one of the pathways described above):

De Novo, Kraaifontein
Hesketh King, Stellenbosch
Ramot, Parow
Stikland Hospital, Bellville
Toevlug, Worcester
Western Cape Youth Rehabilitation Centre (WCYRC)

Free support groups are often spiritually based, but can be effective. Some are:

I see your point, but you have to admit that a broken leg is not that the same as an addiction which is a more of a psychological issue than physical.

It depends on the substance. Cannabis, for example, can be psychologically addictive but has no physiological component. Drugs like tik and heroin are very different animals. Addiction to substances like tik and heroin are serious medical conditions that require expert medical care. It's not something that can just be prayed away.

Tik is a massive problem all over the country and in other countries too, not just the Cape. America has a massive tik problem, they just call it "meth" over there, but it's exactly the same substance.

No, not hinting, it just all the Capetonians I know, know at least one tik addict in their social circle, but I don't experience the same in Gauteng.

Like I mentioned earlier, church is not the only way, but its not a bad place to start with.

You can always go the rehab/medical route depending on the severity of the case.

maybe coz it's cheaper than the others I suppose.

and much more easier to obtain as well.
 
Thanks for all the feedback, much appreciated.

Unfortunately our employee decided to go AWOL yesterday, was at work for 2 hours and then just disappeared. Tried contacting him numerous times without an success. Seems like he has decided to throw in this towel career wise to seek treatment for his kid.

wow. that's so depressing to hear man.
