Tile edge to cupboard - trim recommendations

Hi guys, tiling at the moment, tiler tiles up to cupboard tops what do you do to hide any small imperfections?

Quarter round?

Quarter rounds go in before tile is layed ,tile holds it in place, don't fit any proprietary product instead of quarter round ,if it has to be replaced later it's a mess ,if already in then you must fix quarter round with bostic marine and hold inplace with pieces of wood until dry .

So I assume grout the "connection" and silicon between cupboard and tile?

You can do both, but if you ever need to replace the silicone, it would be a lot easier to remove if it's on the grout instead of the gap between..

anything 100% silicon based would be okay, maybe something with mould resistance too..

Sanded or tile caulk would be the preferred choice, but alas we live in SA and don't get nice things here..

Assuming the tiler bothered to cut the tile properly and neatly, the best is to grout the gap, and then if nec use a silicone sealer to finish it off. Quarter rounds are notoriously difficult to keep in place. Things move. Tiling work in winter WILL expand in summer and WILL loosen quarter rounds.

I watched foreign biulding/builders youtube channels, whenever I see a product that they use for a similar problem that I have, I go down that dame rabbit hole, only to realise it is not available or available at a steep premium.

100% glad to see many of the products slowing cropping up this side though.
