Time for a change ... please assist

Ja. Look. This guy gives advice from consumer reports, then gives me lip for recommending the car I've lived with for a year.

You respond specifically when he asks about reliability. Not even GWM's break down in a year. From your logic I should recommend GWM as reliable if I drove it for a year and it didn't break down. Even better, you suggest your 1 year drive feedback is more valuable than a survey of thousands of motorists. More idiotic advice, give it to us!

Only one arrogant idiot in this thread. It is not me :)

Have a good weekend. I'm out of here.

Feel like a referee in a slinging match ... well, thanks for the tips and advice ... think I will go with the KIA

I would also go for the Sportage.

Please report back on it :)

Since I have worked at a car service station/Workshop I have some valid input.

Jeeps - Horrible cars to own, A/T Gearbox problems, expensive parts (import from Canada), Engine Electronic problems, heavy on fuel (even the Diesels)

I would recommend a Mitsubishi Colt Rodeo very good cars (strong and reliable) or a Nissan Rogue or a Toyota RAV4.

In general, avoid buying a American or a French car, they are very troublesome.

The first option is obsolete, and the second one, I'm pretty sure we don't get in SA.. So at best your advice should be taken with a pinch of salt.

if you are looking for something that will turn heads at every traffic light, fuel consumption is virtually zero, has a certain prestige, can go almost anywhere & spares are freely available - consider one of these:
