Hello guys,

I recently updated to OS5 and my calender birthdays etc that I made by hand is showing the previous day at 22h00. So I am thinking it has somthing to do with the GMT+2 that it is not implementing correctly. Does anyone know how to fix this, thanks.

Yep, but all my calender manual birthday appointments are shifted. I got a thread that seems to help the people, but I did not back up my data so it is no use to me...

No, I don't but I see that the it is using my gmail as a calender but there is nothing on the on my gmail calender. I am now setting my calender to GMT -2 and then downgrading and upgrading again. Hopefully it will reverse the effect.

There should be an easier way. And all your calendar entries should be tied to your main e-mail address. If they're saying device default then there is something wrong. Try restoring from the backup desktop manager made first (just the calendar). Before all of that do a battery pull and see what happens.

Oops, just got a "fatal error occured" Just hope I can still use my device...

The one that is in the Update Software and I didn't delete the vendor.xml file

It is alive, after 5 minutes...

Why should I have google sync?

Yep.

My email account for my BB is gmail, what is the pro's and cons of google sync?

You can just backup your own data and restore it again when you are GMT+2 again, then all the troubles is gone.

I have the same problem; my calendar birthdays change from an "All day event" to 8 hours, or something like that. Whenever I update my OS, I ALWAYS need to manually change the birthday settings after restoring my backup. It's actually quite annoying, and I thought I was the only one with this problem. I don't use Google sync, so that couldn't be the problem though.

As Oronte said, I think you just have to make a backup of all your data before you update and restore it after the update. I changed my calender info manually because I didn't backup my data, but I am sure I will in the future.

I always do. I ALWAYS do a clean install whenever I update my OS, so I need to make a backup and restore it afterwards, and I've noticed this with every OS update.
