Murder-accused paralympian Oscar Pistorius will feature on the cover of the March issue of Time Magazine in the United States, Asia, and the South Pacific.
The front page shows a shirtless Pistorius wearing a pair of charcoal-coloured running tights and his iconic running blades.
Printed over his picture are the words: "Man. Superman. Gunman."
According to Time Magazine's website, the cover would be backed by a six-page article titled: "Oscar Pistorius and South Africa's culture of violence".
The double-amputee faces a charge of premeditated murder after the fatal shooting of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp at his home on Valentine's Day. He was released on bail of R1-million last Friday.
In an affidavit submitted as part of his application for bail, Pistorius said he had thought there was an intruder in his house when he fired the shots.

Time should be balanced and feature one of the US's mass killers on its cover too.

Is that his pic on the new DSTV magazine?

Well to be fair, TIME is pro-MORE gun control. And SA has a violence problem just that most shootings and murders are not like this. This will give the wrong idea and suggest that white upper class, "Calvinists" form the bulk of shooters, and shootings are mainly domestic family affairs as is the case in small town America and Europe. Instead SA faces mostly a gangland/armed robbery/street mugging/home invasion problem with the majority of criminals being common for-profit criminals and most crimes are profit motivated and not crimes of passion.

One of the comments:
coming from the country with the most psychotic serial killers in the history of the mankind, seems legit.
:wtf:

What's worse is there are more people giving the comment a thumbs up, than down

Hippocrates

edit:Hypocrites
Added a reference for you ;)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hippocrates
Hippocrates of Cos or Hippokrates of Kos (Greek: Ἱπποκράτης; Hippokrátēs; c. 460 BC – c. 370 BC) was an ancient Greek physician of the Age of Pericles (Classical Greece), and is considered one of the most outstanding figures in the history of medicine. He is referred to as the father of western medicine[2][3] [4] in recognition of his lasting contributions to the field as the founder of the Hippocratic School of Medicine. This intellectual school revolutionized medicine in ancient Greece, establishing it as a discipline distinct from other fields that it had traditionally been associated with (notably theurgy and philosophy), thus establishing medicine as a profession.[5][6]
However, the achievements of the writers of the Corpus, the practitioners of Hippocratic medicine, and the actions of Hippocrates himself are often commingled; thus very little is known about what Hippocrates actually thought, wrote, and did. Hippocrates is commonly portrayed as the paragon of the ancient physician, credited with coining the Hippocratic Oath, still relevant and in use today. He is also credited with greatly advancing the systematic study of clinical medicine, summing up the medical knowledge of previous schools, and prescribing practices for physicians through the Hippocratic Corpus and other works.[5][7]

They are talking about America.

Not that SA serial killers get any attention, there was a guy who killed almost 50 women, and South Africans don't even know his name. We all know Charles Manson as a serial killer though, don't we? The irony being that Charles Manson didn't actually kill anyone.

It IS rich though, America is very violent.

Here's the article:

There is a moral to these South African stories. A nation whose racial reconciliation is even today hailed as an example to the world is, in reality, ever more dangerously splintered by crime. And inside this national disintegration, however small and well-defended South Africans make their laagers, it's never enough. Father rapes daughter. Mother poisons sons. Icon shoots cover girl.

Quite damning on SA.
