Where do you guys have time share? Whould you recommend it or is it a waste of money?

Just read some comments from people who have time share https://hellopeter.com/rci
A common complaint is that you end up with points that expire but there is never any suitable accommodation available or you have to book years in advance.

Time share is for gullible people who have no self-discipline to save for a holiday.
I'd rather pick when and where I want to go.

If you book in advance, there shouldn't be an issue. We just generally go to our owned time share which is quite nice

My parents had timeshare once in their lives like 15years ago and apparently they won't ever get it again. It's cheaper to find your own accommodation.

Speaking from experience growing up in a family who's Accountant father worked long hours, it forced him to take a holiday every year at the same times and you knew exactly what to expect. We didn't RCI swop so stayed at the same Unhlanga hotel and room for many many years.

For what my parents paid for it 25 years before they sold it they made quite a good return. Relatives use their RCI points for overseas travel swops only and have saved them a lot of money. Quite often a reasonable week in SA would get you two weeks in Europe.

If you have 4 or more people to use it then its really worth while, but just for two people then the annual levy will work out a little more.

The other benefits at the bigger RCI resorts is the entertainment for kids and facilities offered.

With the likes of Airbnb, why would people still buy timeshare?

Do you still use traditional Taxi's? Or have you moved over to the new millennium? :p

I was looking at fractional ownership. At one of the nice lodges in Limpopo or north west.

Zebula looks awesome but Pezula (knysna) has some nice offerings.

You can't really swap them out but you can sell the week/s privately.
