So my original plan was to do CCNA Sec after CCNA R&S but due to work requirements it's time to take on CCNP R&S.

Since most people do route 1st I guess I will do the same. Which study guides did some of you use? I hear that FLG and simplified series are pretty good?

Did you ever get any feedback on this? I am tackling CCNP R&S now.

Nope unfortunately not. I am doing route 1st using route, going through route foundation learning guide and CBT nuggets videos. Busy downloading Chris Bryant CCNP videos. After I finish route foundation learning guide I will read route simplified and doing labs.

When I wrote mine last year I've used CBT Nuggets, the Wendell Odom Official Cert book and tons of labwork. The theory was fairly straight forward, the labwork is what saved me.

Awesome, do you know of any study groups atm in SA? Are you planning on writing the combined exam or doing the three separately?

Thanks, how much time did you put in for the exam? I am pretty much up to par with the configuration but not the theory due to working with it on a daily basis, did about 2 weeks of studying after CCENT of about 4 - 5 hours a day to pass CCNA with a 957 on Friday. Hoping I can tackle CCNP ROUTE before June :D

No I don't I do self study and I am also on techexams.net/forums/ where I post questions, try answer other peoples questions and also check what other people answer. CCNP don't have a combined exam like CCNA. CCNP R&S have 3 exams, route, switch and tshoot. I am going to do route 1st as switch also has a bit of routing and lastly tshoot.

Nice congrats, I passed CCENT ICND1 100-101 in Sept last year and ICND2 at the end of January.

From what I have gathered it is about 2 to 3 months per exam with hard studying everyday. Some guys take tshoot 1 month after passing the 2nd exam. I am aiming to take the route exam by end of May, mid June depending how things go with my new job that I am starting on 1st May. I will only write the exam when I am comfortable and know that I understand how things work as there is no point in getting the cert if you don't fully understand it.
