So, I'm on a 2MB uncapped account with iBurst. For the last 5 or 6 months i have rarely ever gotten more than half the speed I am supposed to be getting, I used to average about 180kbs now I'm lucky if i can get 100kbs, most of the time I'm averaging 50kbs. I'm not sure what changed at iBurst to suddenly half my speed all I know is I have been paying for a service that is crippled and nothing seems to being done about it. Has anybody else noticed a drop in quality of service from iBurst in the last 6 months or so? For me it seems to have started when the big ICASA raid happened earlier this year, seems to me iBurst introduced some new protocols to limit the financial damage and just left them in place.

agree! their speeds do suck even more lately. def not renewing my contract next year.

ADSL line ordered, cancellation email sent to iBurst. Bye-bye iBurst it's been an up and down journey the past 6 years admittedly more ups than downs for me but the last 6 months or so have ensured that I'm not sorry to be going.

Have had shocking Internet Ed's with iBurst over the last month. definitely moving onto ADSL. So glad don't have a long term contract with them. So warning to anyone don't sign on for a 24-month contract if you want real bad Internet with shocking service.

Can't help but agree with everyone here. My contract expires next year, and I won't renew. I've been with iBurst of almost 4 years now. While the first year with iBurst was great, things gradually got worse thereafter.

First, my speeds plummeted towards the end of the first year. I thought that it was a simple signal problem, so I bought and installed an omni antenna, and that seemed to solve the problem. Everything was fine after that, but towards the end of last year, speeds and signal dropped again. After much fighting, I got iBurst to send an expert out. He told me that the nearest base station was too congested, and that I needed a flat panel antenna that can point to another less congested base station. That was done, and my speeds and signal quality improved significantly, if only for a few months. Even though the signal quality is great, and the speeds are supposedly good, I still suffer when trying to watch YouTube videos, or when trying to download games through Steam. I don't think it's the base station so much as it is actually iBurst who's at fault.

Truth be told, I'm not even using iBurst anymore. I have over 76GB that's been accumulating over the last 3 months or so. After all, how am I expected to use that much data when iBurst is shaping my connection to such an extent? Of course, I still have to pay even though I'm getting a sub-par service. I'm currently using ADSL and I couldn't be happier. The difference really is day and night.

Got my new ADSL line on Friday:) Such a pleasure to get double the bandwidth for not much more than I was paying for iBurst, and actually get close to the speeds advertised. Can't believe I didn't do this sooner.

Congrats! Welcome to the real world.

I can't wait for my 12 month contract to expire!

Sad reality is they are one of the very few options available for people with no ADSL telkom exchange close.
