okay i have a lvl 42 hunter and im not good in pvp. im speccing in marksmanship. my problem is once they get on top of me im a wasted. the players are all about my lvl. any tips would be appreciated

I hate to piggy back on your thread, but I'm a Shaman and also need some pvp tips (other than "stay away from pvp"). But I'm sure some of the tips will be rather generic so I'll just keep an eye out.

Concusion shot and Wing clip ... learn it, love it and you will be "super PvP king" - Google hunter+kite

I played PvP as Enchancement and everyone said: "it can't be done", "Don't do it", "Stay away from PvP" I can tell you now I slapped some bitches up with my shaman :) Use frost shock to prevent them from getting away (Hunters and rogues) and just slog away WF proc = pure carnage. I haven't played since the latest patch but I'm sure it's a hell of alot more fun than back in my PvP days :)

You need to shake them off you somehow. It can be hard unless your BM spec and have Besital Wrath, which gives you 18 seconds of not being able to be snared in any way. 18 seconds is massive o_o. With Aimed Shot up in the 3rd tier of your Marksmanship tree you can comfortabley pick it up with a deep BM build.

Another great thing about BM is Intimidation, giving your pet a 3 second stun. Invest in a pvp trinket its only about 8k honor and use it at the right times, in combination with Feign Death, Concussion Shot, Intimidation, Wingclip and your traps, people will find a hard time sticking to you.

Unfortunatly against most melee you dont have much of a chance because they can counter everything I just mentioned, unless our against a really bad warrior. But I've watched hunter pets solo clothies so just hang in there till you have leveled some more lol.

I have no idea how hunter pvp has changed since 3.0 tbh but they have never been one of the stronger represented classes in high end pvp. Although there are some very good hunters out there, so when played right they can be quite dangerous.

I would go resto, nothing pisses me off more than commander riptide. With burst damage being so out of control Paladins and Shamans are the only two healers who can still hold thier own in pvp nowdays.

Bm got major buffage for Pvp. Winclip, intimidation as mentioned. Frost Trap to slow melees chasing you down and some arb ability to put you back to ranged from a melee position ( don't ask what it's called,I don't play hunter,I just know what i've had to battle in arena/bg )

As for shammies. Earthbind to slow melees,Grounding to save against instant caster nukes, earthshock to silence them then charge in,pop ghostwolves and faceroll them to death

Disengage ;)

As a rogue I try to avoid 2 classes in pve ... hunter & paladin.

Paladin , because I can't out DPS his bloody heals & hunter because I get kited to death before I can get to him ... unless I subtlety specced and manage to blind the pet & shadowstep to him before being snared.

Use as much kiting as possible ... frost trap and what not.

You should open with the usual stuns, evasion for the pet, dismantle as soon as the stuns are over (so he cant wing clip you), and cloak of shadows against traps.

He wouldnt dare trinket out of any of the stuns or he would eat a blind to the face, if you can kill the pet with 5 seconds to spare then restealth. As soon as bestial wrath is up, vanish (which breaks snares) and waste his cooldown.

Rogues are blessed with a counter to everything, its just a matter of knowing what to use when and you can destroy pretty much any class in a 1 vs 1 situation.

+1

And just to add, learn to time your stun. I can Stun lock a player, DPS my heart out, Blind, vanish and start again from scratch. He's dead without even having a chance :)

Also on Pala's and Holy/Disc Priests, use mindnumb poison ;)

The above rotation only really works if you are Sub spec'd And having maces makes your stun last little longer, but that takes away your Shadowstep Ambush (Very OP btw:o)

Ooh just try that evasion BS with my DK, Ill make you eat my runic strike :D

I haven't played on my rogue yet since WoTLK appart from one or 2 UK runs. I can honestly say that Warriors used to slap my bitch up pretty hard. I can only imagine what a DK is going to do to my Rogue :(

Say thank you to arms warriors for your Overpower imitation >.<

TBH arms wars and rogues are quite evenly bunched at the mo,basically I think it'll be down to who stuns who the most

Pop rend+dazed howl. Hamstring with glyph to immobilize the sucker if he decides to CoS out. Rend procs overpower. Overpower crits. Sudden Death activates. 12K Execute incoming. If he survives dazed howl again and Bladestorm him into a puddle

I have hated Warriors on my rogue for ages :o

They hit Rogues pretty hard. They are the only class I could not get a hand on unless they where almost dead already :p

Warriors are really a shadow of what they used to be in pvp and it really kills me inside lol. Dismantle pretty much cripples any warrior for 10 seconds. We cant even equip a shield or use any of our defensive ablities (Shield Wall, Shield Block, Disarm). So we have to just stand and take it, you would think plate armor helps but meh, they can just bleed us out.

What makes Deathknights a hard fight is thier incredible mitigation in frost presence and they have alot of survival abilities on a short cooldown that doesnt need much more than runic power to activate. Did you know Anti-Magic shell even gives immunity to rogue poisons? I mean wtf...

This is all very RNG which is sadly what has become of the Arms tree nowdays. You cant CoS Hamstring its a physical effect. Mortal Strike and anything else all hits for very little damage so your pretty much sitting on ur target praying for Sudden Death procs to rage starve yourself. They removed mace stun from Arms because it was too RNG based and yet they add talents like Sudden Death in there. The only way Warriors can stand up to a good rogue nowdays is if they are prot spec, but even then the lack of a healing reduction doesnt make it arena viable in 2's and 3's.

Right now I would say Warriors are the bottom feeders of the melee classes in pvp, much like Warlocks are to the casters.
