I've been studying programing for the last year or so. I've studied Java and Java scripting.

I'm struggling to get a job for months now, I've been for quite a few interviews and nothing. Is there something I'm missing? Can anyone please give me some tips or advice?

Because they are recruiters, I am betting there really isn't a job and they are just getting you on their databases. I've noticed the amount of advertising recruiters are doing lately you cannot tell me there are this many jobs around.

Try learning some of the frameworks to put on your cv as that would count alot in your favour.

Why not volunteer? Seems like you're applying in for paid positions, and without the proper papers won't get you far.

i still get emails every two weeks or so (or phone calls) from recruiters who are looking for mobile java developers. drop your CV onto pnet.co.za and wait

And you mention you "studied", try getting certified, that'll increase your worth a bit.

What is your qualification?
What is your job exp?

Do you know C# or just Java and Jscript?
