Tips to Boost your eBucks

Seems like Incredible Corruption has been added for 40% discount vouchers. Don't recall them being there before...

How do I see the breakdown of previous month's eBuck's allocations (can only see current month)?
I know it's not the 11th yet, but I don't see my 0.6% earn on spend where I've exceeded the cap on high earnings (on Private Clients I should be getting 0.6% on Checkers, Fuel, Online after I've maxed out the 15%, 15% and 5% caps respectively)

I've noticed my ebucks for my smart device did not come through with the rest of them on the 5th of June... My banker has logged something with the ebucks dept to investigate

I'm pleased to confirm that using both ZAPPER and SNAPSCAN (i knew snapscan was)... fall under online spend.

That is cool since more and more retailers going this route? Our canteen downstairs is at least :)

But then is every transaction at the retailer going to translate to a transaction off ones credit card?

Am back on level 5. Was a tough 2 months......paying for bandwidth sucks. Am assuming free ADSL remains on the new rules?

It does.

I also made changes for the July rule changes.
1. Finally got the last online transaction removed from my cheque card. This is a VOX ADSL payment, only R59 /months so wasn't a big issue, but 4000 vs 2000 ebucks points is a huge issue on the new rules for me at least. Sent a mail 7 days ago to get it changed, nothing. So msg'd online rep Voxy today and it got sorted out quick quick.
2. Finally got my account for Wesbank unlogged, so that I could update my details and do the boring chore of logging in at least once a month there, those 1000 to 2000 points will be worth it.

For the 1st time, I can say I am not a fan of the rule changes. But hey, you got to play the game if you want maximum rewards.

I only use my CC where I can. The only place that doesn't take any CC is the post office. So when licenses are due, cash for that one
only

I just do that online. :)

I've asked Premier Banking about this but does anyone here know.

The VISA Extended Warranty / Guarantee on Platinum ...is that for the cheque only or the credit card as well?

It's a VISA offering so I would imagine it's on all things Platinum, but the FNB website only mentions it under the Cheque.

I would imagine adding your Wesbank account to 22Seven should sort that out for you.

What are you referring to with having your last online transaction removed from cheque card? I assume you mean manual payment instead of Debit Order.

I thought EFT's are excluded from that 100% thing?

I assume so aswell. If you never use your cheque card at tills (when paying for things), or use any ATM, you are good (that is how I have it)

I'm guessing he entered in his cheque card details on a web form for them to debit his cheque card.

On another note : How is a smart way to buy tires and earn a lot of ebucks ? Is the best way pay by credit card ?

Snapscan seems to have 3 tyre merchants.. Klerksdorp, JHB and PTA. So go grab your 4% :)

where can I read more about snapscan (never heard of it, never used it before)

I found it on the istore ... I needs IOS 7 or higher :(

No. The cheque card is a full visa card like the credit card, so you can use it for online payments ect exactly like you would with a credit card. So the VOX payment was set up as an actual online payment from the card, not an EFT or Stop order. So it showed up as a "AANK" which stands for aankoop in afrikaans, which is an online payment. This was a legacy payment setup from when ebucks wasnt combined for cheque and credit card, and I only used cheque account at the time.

Its awesome! Snapscan.co.za

You load your credit card into it... then you have 2 options...

1) "old" merchants, where you snap the block widget thingie and then put in how much you need to paay... and hit PAY.
or
2) "new" merchants that have beacons, where while you are in the store it will pick up the merchant and then you put in how much and hit PAY.

The merchant gets notification of the amount paid to them... and you are done. What is nice - is you don't hand over your credit card so i think there is less change of something doing something silly. And - its quick.

My favourite is Zapper... which is similar to the above (option 1), however the picture thingie whatsit is on the tillslip and its linked to that particular transaction. You then use the app to take a pic of it and you alter the tip% and hit Pay... and its all done. I find this much nicer than using my card to pay for the meal and having to deal with a waitron + card machine.

I wonder what the uptake rate for these payment methods are like with your major franchises like spur or mcdonalds or mug and bean etc.
I saw hardly any businesses on the snapscan map around my area... even in the bigger shopping malls.
