Shst, I'm nowhere near that in terms of spend. Does it really cost that much for you guys to pull through a month??? I get away with 3k max and live very comfortable on it.
This includes all expenses besides car and house.

I am surprised that you can live in SA with R3000 I can't think anything like that groceries, fuel, mobile , Internet all incl in this 3000? You are very fortunate

^ Yes, what Mike said. You aren't spending nearly enough to capitalise on Platinum.

R800 on Gold?
Platinum

So how much do you guys usually spend per month then?
At Checkers alone, my spend is 3-4k per month.

Huh? That's not true.

Gold:
"Checkers & Shoprite spend limits and rules
The amount on which you earn eBucks is limited to 20% of your total monthly qualifying FNB Gold Cheque and Credit Card spend or a total rand spend (on Checkers & Shoprite purchases only) of R7 000 per month, whichever occurs first."
Looks like it was my bad.
I was using the calculator and it showed that my max spend is capped at R800.
After filling in more details today it shows max capped at R1900.

Increase of course... PW ebucks earning limit is 10k and you're only doing 2k.. unless I'm reading it wrong
Lol
not sure what else I can buy online...
Start using snapscan/zapper?

Used zapper at the spur this month for the 1st time. Works well.

My online spend for this month is over 8k already (although there were some extra non-monthly spends this time around).
My PC limit is only 7.5k though :(

Merchants I used:
telkom
bidorbuy
zando
computicket
easypay
zapper

Does Zapper qualify as online spend?

Also was telkom for landline or cellular contract?

It's a ballpoint figure.

My monthly expenses
House: R 8,542
Car: R 2,442

Essentials
Groceries for 2 people: At most = R 1800 but it never reaches that.
Elec: R 350
Water: R 30
Gas: R400 over 2 months.... so R 200/m

Telkom 2Meg uncapped R 579
Airtime for me only: R 200
Petrol is prob R 1200

SO watches DSTV so she has to pay for that shst: R 799 or something.

Htf do you get your elec bill to be R350 in winter?

I'm averaging around R600 pm at the moment, single person with hardly any usage. Even have a gas stove so there's no usage coming from there. Maybe a bar heater for about 2 hours per evening.

The only time I get close to R350 is in summer...

If you add the R 200 from the gas that I use for my geyser then it adds up to 550 pm.

I applied for low cost housing at the municipality for my electricity so I get 102 units from R 100.

My electricity bill only gets above R450 per month in winter when I have my brother staying with me, who feels the cold more than me and needs heaters on. I never switch heaters on in winter, which saves me a lot of money.

Can we do a swap and I support you instead of my old man ;)

Try a gas heater. My electricity average the same value year round.

Anything is doable (Does that include VAT)

Mine are even less (including VAT)

Just noticed this stupid thing...

 Online shopping
The amount on which you earn eBucks at your online shopping reward rate is
limited to a total monthly rand spend (on qualifying online purchases only) of
R7 500 on your qualifying FNB Private Clients Cheque and/or Credit Card.
Thereafter, you will earn eBucks on online purchases made using your
FNB Private Clients Credit Card at a flat rate of 0.6%.

So you need to plan your online shopping properly and not go over that limit. I guess once I'm getting close to the limit I'll swipe instead of online to get the 2.5% (of normal swipes) instead of this crappy 0.6%
