Tips to Boost your eBucks

For how many people?
Wife also complains about Checkers range, the hyper is quite a trek for us, so we make do with the local one.
We do supplement with Woolies for fruit 'n veg and then PnP with smaller items during the week.

We buy most of our stuff at the start of the month, so make the trek to the Hyper, Makro, Fruit&Veg in one tiring shopping day and then topup whatever needs to be topped up at our local normal Checkers\PnP. Needless to say I make most of my eBucks on that day.

We spent about R5000 this month on groceries (excluding topups and random braai supply trips) for the host of people that are living with us (We total 5 adults and 2 children) and the CT family that came to visit (Additional 4 adults).

Really trying to get that figure down though!

With regard to the platinum rules, can the below be combined?

So if I have R10 000 in one investment account & a R500 auto-payment to the same account will I score points on both lines?

Does this work on Flexi fixed investments? as i have 30K in Flexi Fixed with a monthly auto payment and have not got any points for it

Did any of you guys got any refund from the yearly fee taken off in Feb 2015 ? (We paid for the year in advanced, but we are now charged per month as per the new rules).

That snip was from the new rules, which haven't been tested yet.
Although I am sure that there is an equivalent or similar requirement in the old rules.

Does Makro online store still not accept vouchers?

Not yet.

You can buy online exclusive items in store though. Just need to talk to a sales person and explain the situation. The delivery lead time etc still holds.

I think and hope so. I have a money market account with minimum balance of R10 000. I set up a R500 monthly transfer into this account on the first of the month and a transfer of the same R500 from the money market to my cheque account on the second of the month. To save fees I will do the monthly transfers to the money market and only transfer back to my cheque account every 3 to 6 month.

Not yet. Didn't someone here report back to say they would refund in August only?

Also, the annual fee date is different for different people, hence the refund amount needs to be pro-rated accordingly. e.g. Mine was taken in December so they will owe me 5 x R16.50 refund.

Mmmm, why do you have a money market account and get 1.5% interest ... where as you can have a flexi fixed account, with R10k also in it, and get 4.5%

I am following this thread daily, and I cant recall seeing anyone mentioning it. I know I replied with feedback from my premier banker, they will refund us in time.

That's how I understand it. I have an ecall account with R10k and I've added a scheduled payment to it from my cheque account of R500.

Will see soon if I am correct ...

I saw the following just now on FNB website:

Effective Rate Fixed Deposit

Get eB 10 000 for every R50 000 you invest for 24 month or longer in a new FNB Fixed Deposit.
Earn a rate of up to 10.77%* per year. Terms and conditions apply. Offer ends 31 July 2015

That doesn't sound bad at all

*Rate for seniors with an investment of 60 months earning interest at maturity.
Keep in mind that the 10.77% is for seniors. That said the 10k ebucks is not to be sneezed at.

Am I mistaken or could one buy Cape Union Mart vouchers less 40% last month?

Seems to have disappeared :/

Speakng under correction, it's a once off. So on 50k invested it is an extra 1% return p.a. or 1.66% if you convert those eB to Makro vouchers at RL5. So, still icing on the cake but not as much icing as it first appears :)

OK, so set a reminder to check if they have refunded by the time the next amount comes off. Certainly not worth stressing every day about R16.50.

Looks like it. But looks like Dis-Chem is now 40% off on physical vouchers.
