Anybody using a secondary credit card for their SO?

Thinking about getting the wife a secondary card on my credit card and just reconcile (and transfer from cheque acc) all the purchases once or twice a month.

And would you suggest keeping the surplus money in my cheque or credit card? Or open an investment or savings account. Currently I'm keeping the majority of my extra money in my credit card which means it always has a positive balance.

Thanks

Yeah we are, on the statement it gets split between the different cards which is nice.

Banker confirmed my correct level is 4. No points allocated for bond (possible 5000) because they don't know about my insurance. Hopefully that gets rectified rather swiftly. And backdated.

I assume that insurance needs to be with FNB?

because you need insurance as part of your contract regardless.

I recieved a mail that said you needed to prove it by sending an insurance schedule, which I have. I recieved confirmation of receipt

Dear Customer
*****
You are missing out on earning more eBucks*

With effect from 01 July 2015, you will collect additional reward level points if your*Home Owners Comprehensive (HOC) Insurance Cover*on your property is up to date with FNB Home Loans.*The more reward level points you collect, the higher your reward level and the more eBucks you will earn.

According to our records, we do not have an updated HOC policy for the bonded property. Such insurance must meet the bank’s minimum requirements and has to be maintained for the duration of the loan agreement.

Please send a copy of your updated policy schedule [email protected]*or alternatively fax to 0860 588 588.

Does anyone know if the Checkers Hyper in Parklands or N1 City in Cape Town sells vacuums and other larger appliances? If I can get these sort of once-off things there I'd be willing to drive a bit.

Thanks. Just order her a card. Will get her to do all her monthly spend incl fuel on the card. Hopefully boosting my ebucks to higher levels.

Just found out the second baby is on the way. So will be needing plenty of ebucks for plenty of nappies.

Anybody on the second point?

Thanks

Anybody on the second point?

Keeping money on the card is pointless, I have a restart fixed deposit and a 32 interest plus account with a scheduled transfer. That gives me 2500 points and the interest covers all the credit card fees.

Half the money in there came from the fact that our expenses were delayed by a month by using the credit card. We pay it off entirely every month so never pay interest.

You can put any extra into savings pocket, minimum of I think R5000 for another 1000points. Providing you are gold like me, I'm not sure about the other types.

I'm on platinum.

Thanks. Will look into the savings pocket and interest plus account options.

Yep, did so for wife and it does indeed make a difference!
Congrats on baba #2! :-)

Have an issue where I did not get points for using FNB banking app - have queried this with eBucks team.

If you don't have a personal bankier, just update every account via FNB's website with an email address. That is 1000 eb points

please explain where on internetbanking do i find this?

i tried going to the account, and then clicking on "in contact", but it seems to be a global setting for all accounts?

The same happened to me. They wanted an update of my insurance schedule, if I can call it that

Ok ... it took met more than a while to find the right spot. Even my personal banker was sooooo wrong where the settings are.

Log into FNB banking
Click my bank accounts
Click on the orange menu on the left
In the middle tab (popular), select email statements
Then for every account, specify your email address, click the disclaimer check box and update.

To confirm, if you have a personal banker, you can ask are all your accounts now verify and subscribed to incontact. You will think that incontact is one global setting right ... so wrong. That is what I thought.

My banker emailed me a list before and after, showing what accounts are not updated correctly for the 1000eB points. So from Oct only will I get those points. (But nothing changes for me as I am already on Lv5)

Like I explained a few pages back. I opened 3 accounts, 2 of them wasn't verified, but one was (somehow).

Seems I am no longer getting the extra 1000 points for being with FNB 3 years or longer either.
