Tips to Boost your eBucks

Well done Gamer ! Can I give you the award for that statement! Why does one need to make debt to get to level 5 if he use all the rules which isn't debt related !

How does 25 000 eb sound on R15 000 spend (Work that out for me please)
It sounds highly unlikely.
I am RL5 private wealth and only get about 24k ebucks a month from 25k spend, including getting 5k ebucks from smart devices which is not available on lower tier accounts.

Yes, there's this permanent rhetoric about debt and interest that's getting quite tiring. For some, at the cost of R40 odd a month, it means between getting RL4 and RL5. I used to do the overnight over draft thing to get RL5, but I'm now getting around 23500 reward points per month, so am no longer doing it. When i was, it was a no brainer to get up to top level.

Ok mr eB (Gamer) ... can one get to level 5 from month 1 with ANY rules ? What do you think ... possible or not ? I don't think it is possible. Most points are related that you need to have the account a few months

That is what a lot of guys think who move up the ladder with packages ! Its very doable ! Look pass the 15% back from fuel and checkers

What I am saying is, don't work on 15% back when you are on premier/platinum (that is the most one get back on the main sections). Look what you earn back with FNB connect .... 40%
Ah right.
My point remains, I don't see anyone getting 25k ebucks with 15k spend.

Yeah also how much airtime must you buy that you'll never use just to make the eBucks.

agreed with the debt thing, it is a no brainer if one would need to spend R40 per month to almost double your ebucks(assuming moving from rl4 to rl5). You need to run the numbers and determine what is best for you.

I figured that question out after I sat and made the calculations.

The next eB rewards will be paid out lets say on the 7th of June. That rewards are determined from the transactions which was cleared and showed from the 1 May to 31 May

On what package are you (premier of private).

I earn that (10 000eB) on less than 10k spend per month !

Im on premier banking... with platinum credit and cheque card..
How do you get 10k eB with 10K spending... ?????

Im clearly doing something wrong.. my monthly spend on about 50K every month...

Please help!

What reward level are you on?

level 4 for now...made the necessary changes to get to 5 next month..

Where do you do your shopping? Checkers gives 15% back, so you should be doing all your grocery spend there (keeping in mind the 20% cap). You should be striving to pay as many of your bills online as you can, up to the online limit (which I believe is R5000 for Premier). Finally, for all your shopping, you should only be using your credit card.

Where does the majority of your 50k go in a month?

Shop all over... builders, picnpay, shoprite (much as possible), restaurants etc and swipe for all petrol - R6k a month..

I used to pay bills (big bills) etc at pick n pay. do you not get more points for:

1 - swiping rather than online? I can use easypay online?
2 - pay bills at checkers?

majority is bill payments (elec, rate and tele)... the rest is once off stuff at hardware stores and others...

Other than not using my cheque card for shopping.. is there anything else im doing wrong? I dont draw cash either....

There is no way you could make level 4 within the first month ! Nice try I would say ! Love how took overdrafts out to make FNB more richer ! (Rule 101 with rewards, don't make debt to earn rewards)

Of course there is a way. If I'd understood the system better a little earlier I would've been on RL5 in the first month, should comfortably make it in the second month though.

I'd hardly call borrowing R1000 for one night making debt (especially since eBucks rates increase by around 50% from RL3 to RL4 and virtually double from RL4 to RL5)

Stay away from the cheque card! Paying bills at checkers won't help as money market transactions are excluded from eBucks rewards. Have you had a look at the calculator on the eBucks website - that should give you a good indication of how to optimise your spend.

Ive been using the O/D facility (for 24h), and the Temp loan (R300) every month for the last 11 months.

The combined cost is less than R100 for both, and Ive been on Lev5 for 11 of the 12 months, earning DOUBLE Ebucks on checkers & fuel spend.

Benefits outweigh cost every single month for the last 11 months.

I can clearly see why the borrowing money even for 24 hours come in. So if it is so easy, why in heavens names are guys struggling to get to level 5 within 1 month
